Another Ex Tiger returns

We are excited to announce that Liam Azzopardi has agreed to terms for next year! Liam is a very experienced TSL defender, who played nearly 100 TSL games for Hobart Tigers before moving over to Hobart City!

Young Guns sign on

U18 Premiership guns (from left: Lachie Plummer, Izaak Hovington, Zane Awde, Will Muskett and Jesse Gardner) sign on for the future.

These signings are another great sign of support for our club, with only confirmed senior departure for next year!

In addition we are also pleased to announce the re-signing of another exciting Trio of Under 18s young guns in (pictured from left) Lachlan Opray, Hamish McCulloch and Will Stadler.

Farewell Will Perry

Despite our best efforts to keep him, our reigning Under 18s Premiership Coach, Will Perry has accepted a Development Role at Lauderdale in the TSL next year.

His commitment to the Under 18s role this year was amazing and his ability to bring those boys in and develop them into the undefeated powerhouse they were, was a great achievement! He duly deserved the SFL coach of the year!

We will welcome Will back at any time to our club!

A short list of potential replacements has been made with some contact already, standby for some announcements on this!

Club Notice

It is with profound sadness that we wish to advise of the passing of one of the Hobart Football Club’s most legendary players, and Life Member, Denis Powell who passed away on Saturday, aged 79.
He played 272 games for the Tigers between 1957-1971, was a four time premiership player (1959, 1960, 1963, 1966) and played in Hobart’s 1959 State Premiership title over the Burnie Tigers.
Denis was also a record six-time Hobart Football Club Best & Fairest winner in 1959, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1967.
Represented Tasmania on five occasions and represented the TFL in fourteen intrastate matches, he was named as first ruckman in Hobart’s best team of 1947-2002.
Denis was part of the famous “Three-P’s” trio of Denis Powell, Mal Pascoe and Burnie Payne who dominated TFL football during the late 1950s and 1960s. The trio were to later have the Western Grandstand at the TCA Ground named in their honour in 1998.

He was awarded with Life Membership of the club in the late 1960s. Condolences to his many friends, family and ex-team-mates. Rest in peace, Denis, from all involved at the Hobart Football Club.
