The week that has been, if it is true indication of where we are at watch out the Tiger is about to roar. The under 18’s put on a stunning performance at Huonville, at three quarter time they were well in the game but to finish with only 16 players and lose by the slim margin of ten points was an absolute credit to them. It might take a few weeks but these Tiger cubs will roar.
He who was late for the Reserves missed a great, tough style old fashioned game of football that again until the last quarter was not decided. There were some real shining lights in this game with players such as Brad Davies, Dylan Huxley, Bryce Apted and Trey Butler all lining up to be included in the seniors. The reserves now have two wins, confidence in themselves and going forward will get even better.
Seniors: Last week we cut the seniors some slack saying they needed time to gel but showed some really good patches of football. It was worth the wait. Saturday’s game was played with gusto and not once did any of our players drop the ball so to speak, our defence was sensational and the forwards took advantage of all opportunities. It was great to see the return of Bryden Goninon who slotted a very classy four goals and the return to super form by Jarratt Horton. A great result with a 25 point win over last year’s Preliminary Finalists. The boys have set the bar really high at this game and I for one am looking forward to more games like this. It was also great to return the prized ‘Graham McVilly Shield’ to our possession.
Master Rules commence this week with our very own team (The Pigskin Warriors) playing at Pembroke Park (Sorell) 12.40pm Sunday so lets’ all get along and support this group. The games only go for one hour and can be very entertaining.
