It’s almost over our 2016 season is complete on field and most of the celebrations are over.  Monday night saw the William Leitch medal count and the event was a credit to the SFL.  The Hobart players didn’t let us down with Luke Sullivan finishing sixth in the Senior count, Dean Jetson (who played half the year in the reserves) finishing second in the reserves count and Harry Fish polling well in the under 18’s.  Along with this Tony McSherry was recognised by the SFL for his years of assistance as a supporter, trainer, senior trainer, rehabilitation co ordinator and more recently a master rules player.  It is nice to see our volunteers who we regard so highly being recognised by the league.
The disappointment for this week was our cribbage group who for the second year in a row were beaten in the grand final.  A great effort but we want the next step in 2017. So what’s on in the next few weeks?

Grand Final Margin Tickets (Buy Now)!
Firstly we are running a margin ticket promotion for the AFL grand final at $20 per ticket with the winner pocketing a cool $500 and the points margin either side of the winner joining the spoils to the tune of $200 each. It is a great interest to have and tickets are available by phoning Paul on 0427 256 340.

Volunteers Call To Arms for 2017:
In a week we will start all the work for the 2017 season and we ask for your support by becoming a volunteer, suggesting a sponsor or at least remaining a supporter of our great club. Talk to Paul on 0427 256 340 or email pmunting@hotmail.com if you’re interested.

2016 Best & Fairest Count:
Saturday October the 8th will also be a fun filled night with the HFC club best and fairest count for the Seniors, Reserves and under 18’s to be held at the Italian Club in Federal Street North Hobart.   The board are pleased to announce that the under 18 medal will be known as the “Aaron Hall” Medal and will certainly appeal to the age group. The evening includes a two course meal ($40) with a 6.30 for 7pm start.  Tickets must be pre booked and paid in full (for catering purposes) by calling Debbie Huxley on 0418 510 151 or Paul Munting on 0427 256 340. Dress smart casual. Payment can be made this Thursday night at the den between 5.30pm-6.30pm for those wishing to pay in person.

Tiger’s Roar Dinner:
The 14th of October is the Annual HFC Old Player’s Dinner. Details are in the flyer attached, all involved in the club are most welcome to attend.
