Well this week has been a great one with lots of hype and a few changes. The players and coaching staff have come alive with excitement as they prepare for our first game against Dodges Ferry this Saturday. Shark Park is the venue and we are hoping for a large supportive cheering group as we commence the 2015 Season.
Tuesday saw a visit from our former player and great mate Jamie Shanahan. Jamie watched over training and spoke with the Tiger faithful and it was obvious he hasn’t lost the love for our Tigers.
Jamies football career included playing with Hobart Football Club under Peter Hudson before being recruited to St Kilda in 1992. At St Kilda he played 125 games as a defender including the 1996 Ansett Cup (the only Ansett Cup that St Kilda has won) before crossing to Melbourne for season 1998 and 1999. Jamie played a total of 162 AFL senior games.
This week has seen the next upgrade of the den with the installation of a very large new wood heater. This was fired up last night and certainly will add to your comfort in the den. Our good friends at Ultimate Direct Wood heaters and Gas Fires supplied and fitted the new unit. Given the performance of this heater may I suggest if you are looking for a new heater get on out to their shop at 88 Grove Road or phone them on 62721476.
