ABOUT THE HOBART FOOTBALL CLUB
Profile: Located centrally, in the heart of Hobart, at the TCA Ground on the Queen’s Domain, the Hobart Football Club (HFC) is a community-based AFL Club, fielding 11 teams from Auskick to Junior Boys and Girls, Under 18s, Reserves, Senior Men, Senior Women and Masters. The Club has a membership distribution in excess of 650. The Club is well established in the Southern Football League (SFL) and continues with its proud history forged over 70 years. The club’s home, the TCA Ground, is currently undergoing expansion with major playing surface redevelopment having occurred, a new State of the Art Electronic Video scoreboard and plans in place for other facilities redevelopment and additions.
History & Success
Founded in 1944, The ‘Tigers’ have won 10 premierships and have been successful in supporting over 25 players reaching AFL/VFL level. Players such as Triple Brownlow Medallist Ian Stewart, Triple Premiership player Alastair Lynch, Former Melbourne & now Collingwood’s Jeremy Howe and Gold Coast Suns’ Aaron Hall.

Juniors
Hobart Junior Football Club participates in the Southern Tasmanian Junior Football League. Our teams include Auskick, Under 8’s, Girls Under 11’s, Boys Under 12 and Under 18s, currently we are aiming to grow our participation numbers even more.
Community
The Hobart Football Club, with its rich history and success is determined to be Tasmania’s best community football club and participates actively in:
- Various sporting clubs of its own with an AFL Nines team, cribbage group, basketball team, Gaelic football team, and has just introduced a Senior AFL women’s team for season 2018.
- Working with Charities – assisting youth with mentoring and gaining meaningful employment (assistance in placing club members in government agencies, call centres, building industry & factory labouring) involvement with Centrelink’s Back to Work program, supporting Ronald McDonald House, Lend a Hand for Hugo, World’s Greatest Shave and other charities.
- Annual participation in the Hobart Christmas Pageant parade.
