On the 26th January 1954 Mr Pat Downie wrote a letter to the Hobart Football Club requesting permission to form the above Association.  After a Board meeting of the HFC , Secretary Mr Fred Stapleton confirmed on the 22nd February 1954 that permission was granted to form the Association and offered some guidelines for the formation of same.  That was the beginning of your Association.
