Gilmour Answers the Call

The Hobart Football Club is pleased to announce the appointments of Former AFL Richmond Draftee and Tassie Devils player, Alex Gilmour (Pictured Right) as the Club’s Senior Playing Coach for the next two years. He will be supported by the appointment of Senior Assistant Playing Coach Brad Joseph (previous Richmond OSFC Captain – Pictured Left). Both players are very experienced Tasmanian State League players, who will greatly boost the ranks and strength of the Tigers, as well as attracting other ‘A-Graders’ to the Club, as we look to turn around our on-field fortunes in 2020.

Alex Gilmour has coached Richmond in the Old Scholars for the last five years, taking them to four Grand Finals and two Premierships in that time. Gilmour kicked 100 goals for the 2019 season, including a 20 goal haul against St Virgils in Round 11.

Brad Joseph is a strong utility player, kicking multiple goals on a number of occasions in 2019, and was very instrumental in Richmond’s path to this year’s Grand Final. Brad will be strong support to Alex in his assistant coaching role as well as providing much added strength and ability to Hobart’s line-up for 2020.
