From the President

Hi everyone,

As it is getting close to the end of the year, I thought I would take the time to wish you all a merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

2019 has been a tough year for the club and its supporters. As 2020 beckons, I can feel some improvements in the air.

Recently the club held its Annual General Meeting and I am very happy to say that I will be continuing as your President into the 2020 and 2021 seasons. I learnt a great deal in the season just gone and I will build on those learnings into next season and beyond. Thank you everyone for your support during the year and I hope I can count on that support again as I move into a second year.

A lot of that support I am talking about came from the board this year, we had to make a few tough calls but we managed to get through relatively unscathed. It’s a tough gig being on the board but I am proud of the way we transitioned from one President to the next. 2020 will see some new (old) faces on the board. A huge welcome to them, I cannot wait to get started on next year.

Obviously everyone would be aware by now the club has signed Alex Gilmour as our Senior Coach for the next two seasons and he has hit the ground running with training and getting to know the players. It’s a really exciting appointment for the club and I am looking forward to seeing what Alex brings to the playing group.

There will be more news on this as it comes to hand but you can expect different things from the club next season. Obviously on field it has already started but off field also. The board are working on some exciting initiatives to bring to the club and improve our off field performance.

I am thinking along the lines of “Same Club – Different Ideas” and we can use your help.

So enjoy your break, I’m off to Queensland for a few weeks over Christmas and New Year and I am really looking forward to it. Summer seems to have forgotten us here at the moment.

Xmas BBQ for the HFC Family

It’s beginning to feel a lot like Christmas, so to celebrate THIS Tuesday 17 December members, supporters and players are all invited to attend a BBQ at the Den (TCA Ground) after training (the last session for 2019), dinner will be served around 7pm. We hope to see you there!
