The Week Gone
Last week saw our Women’s side kick off the day, unfortunately, going down to the University Rainbows, the Girls will this week look to bounce back against a strong Claremont outfit who comes off a narrow loss to Lindisfarne.
Our Under 19s (Colts) side continued their winning ways despite the absence of an interchange bench kicking away right from the start to win every quarter for the match and kick their way to a 48 point win. Notably Brock Daniels who has come from Lauderdale kicked a bag of four for the day, our Colts now sitting pretty in second with a percentage of almost 400. The match against Southern Storm (3rd place with 2-1 record) on Friday night (which has probably occurred by the time you read this), will be a real test of just where this group sits.
For our Reserves this was a bit similar to the Huonville game in that a drop-off in the second quarter saw the boys give up 5.1 to no score, with this reflecting virtually the whole margin of 33 points. The Tigers came hard in the third kicking three late but didn’t do enough on the day.
Our Seniors were looking to get off the mark for 2019, and they started well kicking their way to an early lead against a strong Sharks outfit. The Tigers were trailing by 15 points at half time and looked right in the game against a side fresh from beating the reigning premiers. Unfortunately, another lapse in the third quarter saw the Tigers concede 6 goals to 2, before eventually going down by 40 points.
Finally, the Masters side played on Sunday not having their best game before going down to the Kingborough Tigers by 92 points at Campania. They will have a week to recover before taking on Sorell Masters.
Best of luck to our sides this week against both the Southern Storm (U19s) and Claremont. Eat ‘em alive you Tigers!

From the President:
Hi everybody, over the last few weeks it has been bought to my attention that some of our supporter’s behaviour at some games has been less than impressive.
So I thought that it’s a timely reminder to both players and supporters of our responsibility to show respect in the jumper and colours we wear and support each weekend, and also for the opposition and umpires. Some of the behaviour I have witnessed and heard about is NOT what I expect from the club or what should be expected full stop. I understand that spectators can feel frustrations at times, but some of the behaviour demonstrated by spectators is not on. If you would like to umpire, let me know and I would be more than happy to get you a contact number for them to join their ranks. I’m sure they could do with more.
Footy is all about crowd participation but when that participation goes too far then not only does it affect the person saying it, but it reflects on the club and competition as a whole. Please think about what the impact will be on the club or yourself before you say anything that might reflect poorly on our club or yourself, it’s not what we are about.
I hope from here on in we can all enjoy the footy, support our club and have a good time catching up with each other on a weekend.
